The Facility Support Services Department is comprised of three divisions:
The department has a staff of 51 who work together to maintain approximately two million square feet of buildings and 127 acres of landscaped grounds throughout the district. The Maintenance Division addresses maintenance and repair issues concerning the district's carpentry, paint, locks, welding and general maintenance shops. This Division also administers the district's Emergency On-Call, disability accommodations, asbestos abatement, and departmental safety programs. The Building Systems Division is responsible for the district's electric/electronic systems and equipment, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), plumbing, the tools/supplies crib and equipment repair. The division also manages the district's indoor air quality and life safety system programs. The Grounds Division provides direct grounds services for the elementary schools and support facilities, as well as consultant support for the middle and high schools (which have their own on-site groundskeepers). Duties include the maintenance of grounds equipment, pesticide application, hazardous materials, support of the district's irrigation systems, and management of district wells. This division also provides support for the district's custodians. The Facility Support Services Department is responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements relating to: the Safe Water Act, the Right to Know Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and environmental issues including indoor air quality, pesticides, hazardous waste, fire safety, asbestos and energy management.
