Graduation Procedures
Graduation Credits
Students must have completed all graduation requirements in order to participate in graduation ceremonies. Check with your Counselor. All coursework including finals MUST be completed by May 16th, before 3:30 p.m. Only course work completed by the above date and time will be counted towards participation in the graduation ceremony. This includes all correspondence classes, independent study, Distance Learning, and Weekend Academy.
Dress Code
All students are required to consider a personal sense of dignity and pride in their school as a guideline for dress. Specific regulations include:
1. Practice session – casual dress allowed within regular school guidelines
2. Seniors Honors Awards – appropriate dress (long pants, dresses, shirt, shoes)
3. Senior Breakfast – casual dress within regular school guidelines
4. Graduation – caps and gowns required (long pants, dresses, shirt, shoes, No flip-flops)
On the evening of graduation, all seniors will report to the auditorium. Graduates must carry their caps and gowns to this area. Once you enter the auditorium you may not leave. Please leave all bags, cameras, cell phones, etc. outside with friends or family. Only caps and gowns may be carried into the auditorium.
Issuance of Diplomas
Graduates will receive only their diploma covers during the graduation ceremony. Diplomas will be issued by Mr. Scott beginning the morning of May 22nd.
Pictures and Filming during the Ceremony
Parents and friends are not to enter the graduation area during the ceremony to film or take pictures. There will be professional photographers set up to take a picture and film each graduate as he or she receives the diploma. Parents and friends are not permitted to enter the field until the ceremony has been completed.
Books, Fees, Equipment
Seniors must have all books, library books, outstanding debts and athletic equipment returned by Friday, May 16, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. If there are still any unresolved debts at this time, the student will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.All of these items must be done before you will be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony:
1. All class fees paid at the Bookstore
2. All books returned or paid for at the Bookstore
3. All athletic equipment returned or paid for – See Mr. Kreamer
4. All trainer materials/equipment returned or paid for – See Trainer
5. All Library books returned or paid for at the library
Ceremony Courtesy
Please remind your parents and guests that in order to make this night special for everyone, we are asking them NOT to use “Noise Makers” (such as air horns) during the ceremony, In addition, please remind them to remain seated throughout the ceremony and identify and area on the football field where you will meet them when the ceremony concludes.
