Mt. Fuji - Fuji-san

Mt. Fuji, also known as Fuji-san is the well-known dormant volcano of Japan. Fuji is the highest volcano in Japan at a height of 12,387 feet (3,776 meters). Fuji rises in a typical cone form. At the summit of the volcano is a circular crater 2000 feet (610 meters) in diameter. Fuji has erupted at least 16 times since 781 AD. The most recent eruption of Fuji was from November 24, 1707 through January 22, 1708.
