Terri Sloane (left) – Records and Qualification Specialist
Terri Sloane has worked for the district for 34 years and is currently a records and qualification specialist. Ms. Sloane is always willing to help teachers, administrators and others, and she goes above and beyond in her responsibilities. She provides guidance and specialized assistance regarding requirements for certification and fingerprinting and also tracks professional development hours required for recertification. Ms. Sloane is often called a “lifesaver” since she is a master at helping employees maneuver through the state system on certification, which is not an easy task!
Debbie VanSice – American Government Teacher, Amphitheater High School
Debbie VanSice began her teaching career in 1983 at Amphitheater High School as a history teacher. Now, 33 years later, Ms. VanSice has taught every course within the Social Studies department and has influenced the lives of thousands of students. Beyond the classroom, she is also known by her colleagues and students for her work with the National Honor Society. She has sponsored the organization for more than 17 years and students describe her as the epitome of the very standards the NHS represents, including: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Ms. VanSice has had a tremendous impact on the students, staff, and Amphi community.
