Mrs. Yewell was awarded $5,000 through the Wishes for Teachers grant. The grant is sponsored by the Fiesta Bowl. The grant recipients were honored at the Cactus Bowl in Phoenix on December 27th. Mrs. Yewell's wish is to have the opportunity to experience a MakerBot Replicator+ which is a 3D printer. The printer will be used to positively impact our school and students by allowing them to have the opportunity to create whatever they imagine! Way to go, Mrs. Yewell!
Two of our outstanding 5th graders competed in the Amphitheater District Spelling Bee this week. They competed against students up to eighth grade. Maggie came in second place! She will move on to compete in the Pima County Spelling Bee next month. Congratulations Maggie and Dylan. We are proud of you!
Tucson's mayor has proclaimed Monday, November 14th as Tucson's Fitness Day. His hope is that all students and their able family members will participate in a physical activity for 30 minutes that day. All Donaldson students and their families are invited to join us on Monday, November 14th from 7:30am-8:00am for a fun obstacle course put on by Miler's Club. Please wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes so that you can move safely through the course. We look forward to seeing you there.
Mrs. Tinsley, our principal, agreed to get slimed if students completed 1,000 acts of kindness during the school year. We did it and we had so much fun sliming Mrs. Tinsley at our Spirit Assembly!
