Meet and Confer Information |
The District annually engages in a collaborative meet and confer process to develop a recommendation to the Governing Board of the District concerning compensation and fringe benefits for employees. This process involves a committee composed of representatives of the District Administration (representing the Governing Board) and representatives of the Amphitheater Education Association (representing certificated, support, and professional employees).
The Meet and Confer teams are currently meeting to develop a policy recommendation concerning reductions in force (RIF) for certificated and professional employees. State law was modified by the Arizona Legislature last year to prohibit the use of seniority and tenure status in RIF policies, necessitating the development of an entirely new policy (and regulation) for the District.
The Meet and Confer team urges everyone to stay informed on the states education budget and other legislation affecting public education. Everyone should do whatever they can to influence a legislative outcome that puts the interests of our students first.
