REEL Academy
Reaching Every Early Learner (REEL) is a collaborative learning experience. This experience provides teachers in grades K-3 with opportunities to increase content knowledge to support early literacy, to discover additional ways to engage students through the use of CRISS strategies, to utilize assessment data for differentiation of instruction, and to establish a professional portfolio.

This 2-3 year academy will help participants build knowledge in the areas of phonological awareness, word analysis, spelling, systematic phonics instruction, comprehension, reading fluency, and writing using a balanced literacy framework. Teachers in the academy will design a learning plan for years 2-3 that will help them develop skills through professional development, implement new strategies, and extend learning through observations of peers during planned collegial visits.
