ACHIEVE Mentoring
The ACHIEVE Mentoring program provides students in after school ACHIEVE classes with a one-on-one, caring, reliable, long term adult mentor.

Volunteer Mentor/Tutor Position
Qualifications Sought: An adult or older youth who will provide guidance, compassion, concern, positive experiences, a listening ear and a supportive relationship based on trust.

Training & Fingerprinting: Provided

Duties: The mentor/tutor will help students with reading, language, math and/or homework. While the mentor's role is focused on encouraging academic success, the mentor must also simply enjoy spending time with children.

Timeframe:
Full school year commitment or longer required.

Hours per week: One to two hours per week.

Sample Activities:
1. Reading books
2. Writing and illustrating short stories
3. Homework help
4. Flash cards, card games or other number/word learning games
