COLLABORATIVE ACTION RESEARCH MODULE


Objective: Teacher will research and document the impact of new methods of instruction on student achievement.


Criteria for initial placement
At least a 2/5ths contract, minimum 50% of time with students
Career Ladder Program Expectations were met at Entry to Collaborative Action Research or Collaborative Action Research

  • Adherence to all due dates

INSTRUCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Applied research is current and relevant to the focus question
  • Bibliography is consistently updated
  • Research implementation is well documented and dated

  • Development of a Collaborative Action Research Action Plan based on Arizona State Standards/School Site Focus
  • Classroom implementation of new research tied to action plan
  • Case Study Cover Sheets completed for three (3) students - portfolio data supports academic outcomes incorporating Critical Components of Student Leaning
  • Labeled and dated evidence of Critical Components of Student Learning in case study students' work
  • Class Data Sheet for entire population with a minimum of three (3) assessments (pre, mid, post)

Meeting CAR Program Expectations qualifies a teacher to participate in CAR or a CAR Option the following year.

Not meeting CAR Program Expectations will result in a return to the Traditional Salary Schedule or require the teacher to meet with the Career Ladder Manager prior to September 4, 2009 to create a Professional Growth Plan if choosing to remain in the Career Ladder Program.Portfolios, with final evaluations, may be picked up at the Career Ladder office on Monday, June 1, 2009 from 9:00a.m.-1:00 p.m.
