The Meet and Confer team urges everyone to stay informed on Arizona's education budget and other legislation affecting public education. Everyone should do whatever they can to influence a legislative outcome that puts the interests of our students first.

The joint Meet and Confer team met and continued their discussions of the budget situation. The team is continuing its search in developing a proposal that focuses on solutions within their control, given the current budget predicament. The teams plan to meet again on March 11.
Wednesday, February 18
The joint Meet and Confer team met and continued their discussions of budget implications. The team continues to search for options in developing a proposal that focuses on solutions within our control, given the current budget crisis.
Thursday, February 12
The Meet and Confer team met to begin discussion regarding the challenges that will face our students and staff in the coming year given the financial realities of our state and district budgets.
Policies Proposed Policy/Regulation Revisions
Tuesday, January 27
The Certified Meet and Confer team met and concluded their work on the policies regarding the evaluation of professional staff. (A copy of the teams’ formal policy proposal will be posted at a later date.)
Tuesday, January 13
The Certified Meet and Confer team met and discussed the policies on the certified evaluation system as well as the policies on the part time professional staff.
Wednesday, January 7
The certificated policy team met and discussed three policies dealing with professional staff meetings, disciplinary documents, and the evaluation instrument. The support staff policy team met and discussed a policy concerning support staff discipline as well as a policy concerning site level meetings.
Thursday, December 18
Both groups (certificated and support staff) met together and discussed two policies – one concerning attendance of professional conferences and the other concerning employee discipline. The teams then broke into their separate compositions. The certificated team continued to meet to address a policy affecting certificated employee discipline. The support staff team also continued meeting to address a separate policy.

The certificated and support staff policy teams met jointly again and reviewed three policies pertaining to wellness, personnel records and professional staff conferences.
Wednesday, December 3, 2008
The Support Staff and Certificated Meet and Confer teams met jointly for the first time. Each team presented policies of interest and the group agreed on priorities for addressing those policies.
