Academic Goals 2006-2007
  • The state standards will be stressed and data analyzed to help guide instruction and effectively implement our Pyramid of Interventions. We will continue to develop units around the new standards.

  • All students will continue to receive emphasis on the importance of reading across the curriculum. We will expand our professional development to include the use of some new strategies while continuing our focus on fluency, vocabulary development and spelling. We will continue to learn and provide differentiated instruction. The state standards will be reinforced outside of the school setting by the Lion Tales Reading Program, Family Library Nights and the Book Look Program.

  • The scheduling of specialist classes will be done in a manner that will provide each grade level with a block of literacy time each day.

  • We would like to have more students memorize their math facts. A school-wide focus will be to provide support for students in the learning of math facts.

  • Specific grade level goals are available for review in the office. These goals are contained in our Strategic Improvement Plan which is currently in the second year of implementation.
