This book takes place in the year 2194 in Zimbabwe, Africa. Rita, Tendai (tendie), and Kuda life in a military compound because their father, General Matsika, fears they will be kidnapped by the "Mask." His worst nightmare comes true-the children are kidnapped and sent to work in the Dead Man's Vlei, where toxic plastic waste has been dumped. General Matsika goes to a detectie agency and hires the Ear, the Eye and the Arm to search for his children. Each person has a special ability because their mother drank water poisoned with plutonium-the ear with sensitive hearing, the Eye with sensitive sight, and the Arm who gets hunches. When the Eye, the Ear, and the Arm learn the children are working in the dump, the children have escaped. These detectives are always one step behind the children. Will they find them?
