The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen

It's Passover and Hannah is tired of Passover. She is tired of hearing the same old story, the Haggadah (the story of the Exodus), asking and hearing the four questions, and hearing her family talk about the Holocaust. Then, as part of her family's Passover tradition, she steps outside to see if the prophet Elijah is there. Mysteriously she is transported back in time into a Polish village. She is Chaya, a girl from another village, who has come to live with her relatives. Soon she is not sure whether she is Hannah having a dream or Chaya dreaming of Hannah. But whoever she is, she and the other Jews in her village are rounded up and sent to a concentration camp. Find out what happens in, The Devil's Arithmetic , by Jane Yolen.
