Recording Your Greeting
1. Connect to the Voicemail system with your password,
2. Press 821
This will allow you to record your "external greeting*."
3. Press 5 to Record
4. Say your Greeting

{Sample: Hello, this is (say your name). I can't answer the phone right now, please leave a message and phone number. If this is an emergency, please press ZERO and someone will answer your call.}


5. Press the pound key to end the recording
6. To review the greeting press 2, to add more to it press 5, to delete it press 76, and then follow steps 3-5 to record again
7. Press 83 to log out

*Special note regarding "internal greetings": If you do not want a special internal greeting, the internal caller will hear your "external greeting." Please check that the last person using your phone did not leave an "internal greeting" by logging into your voicemail account and pressing 8222. To delete press 76. To record a new greeting press 5 and then follow steps 5-7.




Entering Your Name into the system

If you don't do this a person just hears your extension number when they are forwarded to your voice mail or worse hears the name of the last user and thinks that they have the wrong extension.

1. Connect to the Voicemail system with your password
2. Press 89
3. Press 5 to record - wait for the tone and state your first and last name and extension.
4. Press the pound key to end the recording
5. It will repeat what you have said; if you like it press 83 to log out, or repeat steps 2-4 again until you are happy.
