AP Biology
(1 cr., 2 semesters) Prerequisite: Pre-AP Biology or Instructors Approval Weighted grade. This course is a continuation of honors Biology, extending and building upon the conceptual framework developed in that course. Like honors biology, a major emphasis in this course is discovering biology through experimentation and inquiry. The content areas focused on this course include an in-dept examination of the biological kingdoms and the diversity of life, structure and functions of plant and animal systems, and ecology. Students will have the opportunity to design their own experiments and will be required to develop their own research projects as an end of the year project.
