Participation in the Advanced Placement program gives students the opportunity to take college-level courses while you are still in high school. AP courses teach you skills that can lead to success in college. You will develop the writing skills, problem-solving techniques, and study habits that will prepare you for college academics. Plus, taking rigorous AP courses demonstrates your maturity, willingness to push yourself intellectually, and commitment to academic excellence, which can help you stand out in the college admissions process. An additional incentive is that many colleges will provide college credit for students that take and pass the AP exam that is offered in the spring. Historically, Canyon del Oro students perform significantly higher than the national average on AP tests thanks to our experienced and dedicated staff.
