Pre AP Biology
(1 cr., 2 semesters) Prerequisite: Chemistry Weighted grade. This course will provide an in-depth examination of key concepts in biology and provide students with the opportunity to explore biology through experimentation and inquiry. The content area focused on in this course include organic molecules, enzyme action, cellular structure and function, cellular reproduction, biochemistry of respiration and photosynthesis, genetics, DNA and protein synthesis, biotechnology, and evolution. Students will have the opportunity to design their own experiments and will be required to develop their own research project as an end of the year project.
