PSAT

The PSAT is essentially a practice SAT and is typically taken during the Fall of both the Sophomore and Junior years. During the Junior year, a high score on the PSAT may qualify the student for a National Merit Scholarship. For more information about the PSAT, please visit College Board

SAT 1



• 33% Reading, 33% Math, 33% Writing


• Measures the critical thinking skills you will need for academic success in college.


• Scores based on the number of questions answered correctly, minus a fraction for wrong answers.


• Score Scales= Critical Reading 200-800, Math 200-800, Writing 200-800


• Total Score= 600-2400

SAT II



• One hour long subject specific exams which are required by selective colleges only.


• SAT II Learning Center



ACT



• 25% English, 25% Math, 25% Reading, 25% Science Reasoning


• Measures academic achievement in english, math, and reading; contains analytical and problem solving exercises.


• Scores based on number of right answers. No penalty for guessing.


• Score Scales= English 1-36, Reading 1-36, Math 1-36, Science Reasoning 1-36
• Total Score= 1-36 (average of 4 test scores)
