One of the requirements for University admission is completion of the SAT or ACT. The following information includes a basic overview of both tests. In addition, we have included links to both the SAT and ACT web pages so that you may research the answers to any additional questions you may have.



PSAT


The PSAT is essentially a practice SAT and is typically taken during the Fall of both the Sophomore and Junior years. During the Junior year, a high score on the PSAT may qualify the student for a National Merit Scholarship. For more information about the PSAT, please visit College Board

    ACT


    • 25% English, 25% Math, 25% Reading, 25% Science Reasoning

    • Measures academic achievement in english, math, and reading; contains analytical and problem solving exercises.

    • Scores based on number of right answers. No penalty for guessing.

    • Score Scales= English 1-36, Reading 1-36, Math 1-36, Science Reasoning 1-36
    • Total Score= 1-36 (average of 4 test scores)
