Renaissance Place is the web-based version of STAR Reading and Accelerated Reader programs for students. Accelerated Reader (aka "AR") is an independent, motivational reading program in which Copper Creek students participate. First, students take a diagnostic reading test quarterly called STAR Reading.  The results of this test are used to set appropriate reading ranges and individual goals for each student.  Then students check out and read books in their personal range. Once the student finishes the book, they take a quiz online. Passing a quiz earns the student points which may be traded in at the AR store for prizes. Once the student reaches their individual goal, they will earn a charm (see AR Incentive Program link for more information).  This encourages and challenges students to attain higher reading levels.

Students may take AR quizzes in their classrooms, in the library, and in the computer lab during school days/hours only.

Renaissance Place offers "Home Connect" which is a tool enabling parents to keep informed of their child's progress toward Accelerated Reader. For additional information on this feature, please see "Home Connect Parent Guide" on the left-hand side of this page.

Although Copper Creek uses Accelerated Math for 3rd and 4th grade, reports are not available through Home Connect at this time.
