Be sure to order your yearbook soon!
Order your 2007-2008 Cross yearbook. This school year is almost over!Keep the memories alive with a yearbook that will bring delight for years to come. Remember, the last day of school is May 22nd.
Attention Albertson's shoppers:
The Albertson's Community Partner Cards are now available. Please pick one up in the office. Cross will receive a percentage with every purchase. What an easy way for Cross to make some extra money!
Every box top counts!
•You can earn box tops for Cross Middle school by signing up on the box tops website. Log onto boxtops4education.com and register – just type in Cross Middle School, then follow the directions.
•Or,bring in your box tops–there are collection envelopes in every R/S class or drop them off at the office.
Cross families have been doing a fantastic job with turning in those BoxTops! Thank you for helping Cross earn FREE MONEY! We were so close to meeting our goal! Next year, we're aiming for 1000 box tops, so be sure to keep collecting over the summer.

Cross Middle School
PTO meeting 5/8/2008
In attendance: Rob Vinyard, Sandi Khawam, Elizabeth Burnett, Helen Leighty, Sean Leighty, Kim Fitch, Mary Ferber, Kathryn Pellegrini.
Minutes from meeting of March 13, 2008 were approved
Principal’s report: Rob Vinyard
Things are going smoothly as we head into the end of the year. Cross is in a good position regarding hiring. Up coming events:
5/13 National Jr Honors Society ceremony at Cross
5/13 Odyssey of the Mind team going to world will meet at Amphi board meeting
5/16 8th grade dance 6 to 8pm. Between 85-90% of the 8th graders attend
5/21 practice for 8th grade promotion
5/22 8th grade promotion starts with 8th grade honors ceremony that morning
President’s report: Sandi Khawam
Teacher Appreciation luncheon finalized for 5/23.
Purchasing gift cards for retiring teachers Toby Smitt, Susie Kittell and Nancy Casey.
Vice President’s report: Elizabeth Burnett
Profit from Spring Thing was $8,700. Wrap up meting to come.
Elizabeth will be conducting a volunteer, RS teacher and student survey regarding Spring Thing.
Elizabeth has idea for fundraiser involving the kids running the RAM. More discussion at next meeting.
Not doing Entertainment books next year.
Kim Fitch made a motion to nominate officers for 2008-2009 school year, Mary Ferber seconded.

Officers were voted and approved.

Kim went over accounts and books with Helen and turned over information.
PTO bank balance is aprox. $32,000.
Helen to work up a proposed budget for next year before next meeting
Helen is researching banks that may better fit our needs. When bank decision is made all four officers will be added as signers on account. Checks will still require two signatures.
Secretary’s report: Kathryn Pellegrini
Received Thank you letter from Cross for $1,500 donation towards new sound system
Received Thank you notes from Valerie Wirth and Julie Nicholas for classroom donations from PTO.
Sandi proposed that PTO purchase three Smart Boards for Cross with $2,400 raised from the parent fundraising letter for Amphi Foundation, $5,600 from PTO, and $4000 in matching funds from BHP. Kathryn moved and Kim seconded. Motion passed.
PTO agreed to add WEB program and Leap Ahead for Amphi as budget line items. Amounts will be determined based on PTO fundraising.
PTO will set our fiscal year to match Amphi’s beginning July 1st, ending June 30th.
Custodians would like PTO to purchase like 8 new tables 4@ 6 feet long and 4@ 8 feet long. Elizabeth is looking into pricing.
Rob would like PTO to continue working for more Smart Boards next year.
Tabled until next meeting was a discussion of additional budget line item for teams and groups representing Cross at out of state competitions.
PTO presented Elizabeth with thank you gift for great job on Spring Thing.
PTO presented Kim with thank you gift for her years of service as PTO Treasurer.
Executive committee will meet June 4th. Time and place to be determined.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:15.
