Advanced Placement

Ironwood Ridge High School is pleased to offer students the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced college placement through the Advanced Placement Program.

By taking on the challenge of AP courses, students also better prepare themselves for academic success at the college level.

Students in AP courses study a vigorous curriculum developed nationally by leading high school teachers and college professors.

In addition to studying a subject in-depth, AP students practice critical thinking skills to demonstrate their own reasoning, analysis, and understanding.

The IRHS AP program offers a diversity of classes for a diversity of student interests. IRHS AP course offerings include: English Language, English Literature, Environmental Science, US Government/Politics, World History, Psychology, US History, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Biology, Chemistry, Music Theory, Studio Art, French Language and Spanish Language.

A variety of Pre-AP and Honors courses offered at the Freshman and Sophomore levels support the AP program by introducing critical thinking skills and key academic concepts.

Any student considering attending college should take on the challenge of AP courses at Ironwood Ridge High School!
