Ms. Schlieder
Welcome to 6th GradeI cannot live without books. (Thanks to Thomas Jefferson for that quote.) Literacy is my passion. My goal for every student coming out of my class is to have an increased desire to read for pleasure, and to write with purpose and enjoyment.
I graduated from Central Michigan University with a BS in Education and majors in Elementary Education and Special Education. I received my master's degree from the University of Colorado with majors in Learning Disabled and Emotionally Impaired. I have taught for 39 years, and my teaching experiences include: educable mentally handicapped, trainable mentally handicapped, learning disabled, emotionally impaired, Title 1 reading, 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade. This is my second year teaching language arts at La Cima Middle School.
I am the mother of three sons. I also have six adorable granddaughters ages 2, 10, 12, 13, 13,15.
In my spare time (which I don't know the meaning of during the school year) I enjoy watching Bronco games, reading, listening to music and creating playlists and CDs, Jazzercising, journaling, collaging, and traveling.
Nothing beats the excitement and energy of a new school year. So, are you ready for some learning?
