Homework Help
Some of the areas that might be affecting school performance are listed below.

Any one of these, or a combination, can be contributing factors to a student not performing up to their potential in school. I firmly believe that we must look at the whole person, and their environment, when addressing poor academic performance. And because middle schoolers have not yet developed their full emotional intelligence, as much as they would like us to believe otherwise, we especially need to address their feelings!
Truancy/Absenteeism
Lack of effort or motivation
Family Issues
Drug/Alcohol Use
Gang Involvement
Grief/Losses
Depression
Self Mutilation
Sexual Harrassment
ADHD/ADD
Stress
Anger Management
Behavior problems
Low Self Esteem
Lack of study skills
Poor organization
Poor time management
In addition to this primary responsibility, I also do the following:
-Co-teach a reading class.
-Coordinate the Cardinal Ambassador program
-coordinate Odyssey of the Mind teams.
-Coordinate the AIMS/DPA testing in spring
