The La Cima Reading Program

| | | | | Everyone at La Cima is involved in our reading program. Every student and every teacher (including the librarian, the counselor, and the assistant to the principal!) has a reading class for the first hour of the day. In addition, reading strategies are taught in all content area classes.

| | Students are placed in reading classes by ability level--beginning to advanced--to insure that each child is receiving the proper curriculum. Placement is based on several tests as well as teacher recommendation. Retesting is done periodically to monitor progress and placement.

| | One of the best ways to support your child's reading is to read at home and have them read at home!
