After School Programs!

After School Tutoring and Homework Help
All students at La Cima are welcome to come to join our free after school programs: ACHIEVE for Tutoring and Homework Help; Mentoring; Clubs; and ETC (Empowering, Teaching and Connecting).

This is available on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at La Cima from 3:35-5:30. Students can take the activity bus home.

In addition to homework help and tutoring which takes place during the first hour of the program, students may choose to attend an enrichment class during the second hour.

  • Chick Lit and Harry Potter Club--clubs that encourage students to read for pleasure
  • Club Cranium—-club that strengthens reading, vocabulary and critical thinking skills through the use of games such as Cranium, Scattergories, Apples to Apples, etc.
  • Math Games--students improve math skills through the use of computer games,card games,group games,and board games
  • Paper Crafting--students practice their writing skills and show off their creativity in making cards, mini books, and other paper crafts
  • Computers--students work in the computer lab to do research, complete assignments, or play educational games
  • Brain Buzzlers--a class where junior detectives try their hand at solving mysteries and practicing their academic skills
  • Fashion and Etiquette--Students learn about fashion and etiquette through reading, working to create their own magazine, practicing exercise and nutrition, and participating in a fashion show

  • Studio 2B – Mondays
  • Oregon Trail - Mondays
  • Harp Class - Mondays
  • Aerospace Challenge - Tuesdays
  • Jazz Band - Tuesdays
  • Folklorico - Wednesdays



    All students may attend homework help and enrichment clubs, but some of the special programs require registration (though all are still free). For the current schedule, please see the bulletin board in the foyer of the main building.


    Students should listen to WULC each day for more specific information. Parents can contact Ms. Yemen Bernal at 696-6795 or by email.


    In addition, students may participate in Comics Club or Open Computer Lab in the mornings from 7:45-8:15.
