Welcome to Jane Peterson's Art Room
This is my second full year here at Walker and I am happy to be back! Walker students are busy creating wonderful work and making my work here very enjoyable.

Art is  in portable 16 through December of this year.  By January ART should be in the new two story building on the Northwest side of campus.   My current phone number is 696-6542. Feel free to stop by and say hello! Or visit my blog at http://walkerartstudio.blogspot.com to see more of what our Walker artists are up to.

2009-2010 Art Program

I have a very exciting year planned for our Walker artists. The 4th grade students will participate in our 3rd Annual Pit Fire out at Catalina State Park on March 9, 2012.  This is an above ground pottery firing method used for by Native Americans for centuries. If you are a 4th grade parent, please contact your student's teacher to sign up to volunteer for the event. We will need a lot of help in the weeks before and during the day of the firing.

The 5th grade students will participate in one of two field trips to San Xavier Mission and Tumacacori Mission.

Starting this September, students can join ART CLUB!  This group will meet 2 Tuesdays a month to paint exterior doors around the school in the style of different artists.  In the spirit of Art education, they will make monthly announcements about the new and existing doors so all of the Walker community can learn about the origin of each door.

All of the Walker artists will be creating projects with clay, paint, oil pastel, collage and much more. Look for art shows coming up in February at the Nanini Library and the Foothills Mall.   This year's theme will be ";Happy Birthday Arizona!";

Thank you for all of your support for the art program! Your contributions are making our program strong .
