Our mission is to provide quality education in partnership with parents and the community. We encourage this by maintaining a learning environment that fosters productivity and inspires children to be innovative, responsible, and life-long learners. We encourage this through our PTO,our OASIS program, Advisory Coucil and a strong alliance with the local businesses.

We strive to meet each child's needs through an exceptional classroom experience and a multitude of support and enrichment programs. Quality Education means we develop the very best in each child through SEI, REACH, Special Education, Success For All, Title 1 Support, Music, Art, P.E., Artist in Rsidence Program, Peacebuilders, and ACHIEVE.

Our School Prfile

Rio Vista serves studets in grades Kindergarten through sixth grade. All students are provided with 90 minutes of direct reading instruction at their instructional level which is determined every eight weeks through assessment. K-3 classes use the Success For All reading program. Fourth-Sixth grade reading snstruction is literature based using the Pegasus program. Our K-5 classes are implementing the Everyday Math progaram this year. It is aresearch-based out of the University of Chicago. In sixth grade, students use the saame math curriculum as the middle school.

Our school provides instruction for students with special needs and interests through Sheltered English Immersion, REACH, the ACHIEVE program, Special Education classes, and tutoring. Kindergarten students participaate in P.E. and Music classes. All other grades attend P.E., Music, and Art. We also offer students opportunities toparticipate in Pride Patrol, Student Council, Band, Orchestra and other extracurricular activities.

Rio Vista's best feature is its culturally diverse population. We learn so much from each other!
