Welcome to Walker Library! |
The Library is open every school day from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Students visit the Library each week with their class. They may also use the Library every morning before school starts and at lunchtime. Due to scheduling conflicts, 4th and 5th graders may use the library at lunchtime only on Mondays and Thursdays.
First graders are allowed one book at a time; second grade through fourth grade students may check out two books at a time; and fifth graders are invited to check out three books at a time. The loan period is two weeks. Students are encouraged to return or renew books often to avoid getting overdue books.
Parents are invited to use the Library and check out books to be read with their children at home. Parents may check out up to ten books at a time for a two-week loan period. Shared reading is a great way to develop a life-long love of books!
Stop by the Library! We’d love to see you!

Generous people often contribute books their children no longer use to the Library. Many times, these books are in perfect condition and are very useful to the Library. There are times when I cannot use these donations and I pass them on to teachers or charities.
Recently, I thought of a better way for your donation to help the Library. Take your “old friends” to Bookman’s, then donate your credit to the Library. This is a great way for me to select books that can fill a specific need in the Library collection.
Thanks for your continued interest in the Library. Stop in and see us often!
