I am excited to announce that we will once again have Algebra Clubs at Wilson for 4th and 5th graders as well as a few select 3rd graders! There will be an Algebra Club held Fridays in room 704 during lunch and an Advanced Algebra Club held Friday mornings at 7:30 am beginning Friday, September 7, 2012. An Einstein club is offered to select students who have completed both Algebra Club and Advanced Algebra Club. This will be held on Thursday mornings at 7:30 beginning Thursday, September 13. Students in Algebra Club will bring their lunch to Mrs. Tilicki's room and be there ready to learn. Students in Advanced Algebra Club will meet before school on Friday mornings. This club is for students who have already completed Algebra Club and have a great understanding of the concepts taught. Students are welcome to bring breakfast, but must be ready to learn. Behavior issues will not be tolerated and those students will be asked to leave and will not be permitted to return. The following officers will be needed for all three clubs. If a student would like to run for office, he/she should write a letter to the club stating why.§ President - Takes attendance - helps students who are struggling.§ Vice President - Takes attendance in the presidents absence and helps students who are struggling.§ Secretary - Takes notes on what was learned in each meeting. Helps to grade tests.§ Treasurer - Helps collect monies and order books. Helps grade any tests. Please sign up for Algebra Club by returning the bottom portion of this letter to Mrs. Tilicki with $10.00 for books. There will be no limit to the number of students accepted into Algebra Club. This is open to all students who love math - everyone can do this! Know that the room is crowded and again, behavior issues are not tolerated.
