MILER'S CLUB - reaches 30,793 MILES!
2008-09 Miler's Club Details
WE WILL BEGIN OUR NEW MILER'S CLUB YEAR ON SEPTEMBER 30th. Please check the next Sky Writer or check back here for details.ALL 3rd - 5th Grade Students are welcome to attend! Bring your tennis shoes and walk, jog, or run our Miler's Club course. Earn your star on the Wall of Fame for every 10 miles you complete. Help your class earn the Class Champ Award for the most miles. Last year, Mr. Walling's class won the prize for 2007-08 with 931 Miles!
PARENTS/FRIENDS - we need your help for course set up, water station, stamp station, sorting student cards, and tallying the results. Give Mrs. Paulson a call (696-3845) or drop her an email and say "I'll help!" Thanks.



Grades
3rd-5th Grade Responsibility Rubric
1st Grade Students are working on a 5 point system. Each day during PE classes, we are looking for students who:
1. Wear Tennis Shoes and clothes appropriate to play in
2. Listen and Follow directions
3. Demonstrate SAFETY (with self and others)
4. Help Others
5. Play Fair
Developmental skills will be observed and each student will be rated one time per quarter and this is averaged into the grade.




This week in 1st Grade PE
TEAM WORK - we played "Bubbles" to work on our safety skills by watching out for our teammates and moving safely through general space.
We played a small group exercise matching game in order to practice waiting and taking turns and showing how we "Work Hard" and "Share!"
We participated in a partner activity with baskballs to practice waiting and taking turns and showing how we "Work Hard" and "Share!"

This week in 3 - 5 PE
TEAM work, being caring and responsible teammates! Each team played a Ping-Pong Ball Cooperation game which helped us work together to accomplish a goal. We learned that each of us needs to be caring and responsiblein order for all of us to succeed!

STAY FIT ACTIVITIES
We need your Tax Credit Donations for The Stay Fit Activities. Miler's Club has begun! All 3rd-5th grade students, teachers, and families are encouraged to participate.
