About the Teacher
|
I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in French and Spanish. After graduating from UA, I worked on the south side of Tucson in a French business position for a year, when I decided I wanted to use my languages to teach high school French and Spanish. I returned to New Hampshire, where I am from, and went to Plymouth State University, in Plymouth, New Hampshire, where I earned my masters in education and my K-12 certification. I spent five years teaching high school Spanish, French and Latin in New Hampshire until I returned, in 2006, to Arizona and Canyon del Oro where I teach Spanish 1 and 2 and French 2. Each student that enters my clasroom is provided with everything he/she needs to be successful and reach his/her full potential. My standards are high for my students, as they are for myself. Students' grades are made of four parts, quizzes-40%, homework, test and participation-each at 20%. Students are given the opportunity to retake low quiz grades for an average of the two grades, they are allowed to pass homework in for a late grade, and their participation is mainly a self-assessment grade that they do for themselves. The only grade that is set, is their test grade-%20 of their grade. I enjoy working closely with parents as well as the students, and I would like students AND parents to feel that they can contact me for any reason. Please feel free to contact me at my e-mail link below or to come in and spend time with our class. Finally, in these times of trial and cultural tribulation, please, practice tolerance in your home. Celebrate the diversity that makes our nation such a joy in which to live. Support the different cultures right here in Tucson. |
