Community Philosophy
|
Courses are designed to improve students' communication, writing, reading, and critical thinking skills through the practice of reading and writing in meaningful contexts. We will attempt to develop a coherent classroom "conversation" that enables us to recognize the relationships between our units and the texts that will form the foundation of our work.
All students are highly capable learners. Because we all learn so differently, a successful classroom is one that capitalizes on the diversity of learning styles by engaging in a variety of activities. The best classroom environment provides constant learning opportunities by operating as a true community in which all individuals challenge themselves to contribute their unique and valuable voices to the classroom conversation.
Work hard. Just like everything else in your life, you will get out of this class exactly as much as you put into it. Let's have an awesome year!
