Expectations

Workhabits
Students are expected to come to class prepared by bringing:
a. 2 sharpened pencils
b. 2 pens
c. their composition book journal (with their name in bold letters on the cover)
d. all completed assignments

Due Dates
Students are expected to take responsibility for arranging extensions of due dates by bringing a note from home explaining the emergency that makes an extension of time necessary.

Students will only be granted an extension of time on major projects if the request is made no later than one week before the due date of a major project.

Extensions for regular assignments may be arranged on a case by case basis, when there is a note from home, and if the student is consistently in the habit of bringing work in on time.

Students are to bring in a composition book, a 1" three-ring binder and two-pocket folder for use in class. Students with chronic allergies are asked to supply their own box of tissue.

Students are expected to spend 20 minutes each day on homework for this class. Work will include completing tasks related to class assignments, reading (class novels or other assigned reading) and any work not completed in class. Every student is expected to read for at least 100 minutes each week. That reading may be done durnig seminar time, if the student did not choose a music elective. Students who choose music rather than seminar are choosing to do homework at home or in ACHIEVE after school.
