What is ecology?
Ecology focuses on the interactions or relationships that take place between organisms and their surroundings. Generally, these interactions can be organized into three categories.
  1. Intraspecific relationships- take place between members of the same species. Examples of these relationships could include teamwork and family interactions.
  2. Interspecific relationships- are the interactions that take place between members of different species. Examples of these relationships could include predator-prey relationships, two different species helping each other, or competition for resources.
  3. Biotic-abiotic interactions- Organisms also depend on their non-living surroundings.Examples of abiotic factors that impact organisms include climate, air, water, temperature, space, and sun.
