| Welcome to Miss Hinz's First Grade Class |
| Welcome to First Grade! We are going to have a great year of learning! Your child will be learning through small groups, individually, and hands-on. We have a frog theme in the class that lets us "Hop into Learning." We have some special activities for the first part of the year that includes a Mother Goose reading for the parents, a field trip to a pumpkin patch in October, a Harvest Party, and Santa's Busy Elves. The second part of the year will also be busy with some great activiites like a snowman unit, presidents and Valentines, Lost in Space, a desert field trip, and spring activities. Communication between parents and teachers increase positive learning, please feel free to call me if you have an emergency or send a note. |

Monday - We have music from 10:00 - 10:50.
We also have computers.
Tuesday - We have art from 10:00 - 10:50.
Wednesday - We have Library. Please return books every week.
Thursday - We have P.E. from 10:00 - 10:50.
Friday - No Specials! |

| General Information |
School begins at 7:55 and is dissmissed at 2:25. On Tuesday, we have a short schedule. School still begins at 7:55, students eat lunch, and school is dismissed at 12:30.. When the students arrive at school, they need to go to the playground. When the bell rings, the students need to line up at the wall between the girls and boys bathroom on the primary playground. After school, the students and I leave through the door that opens to the courtyard. I dismiss bus students, then parent pick-up and then PAL students.
When sending lunch money to school with your child, please put it in a baggie or envelope and label it with your child's whole name, my name and that it is lunch money. This will help with the process in the morning.
Students do not eat lunch until 11:30. Please send a healthy snack for them to eat at morning recess.
If your child is going to be absent, please call the office at 696-6800. If your child is late, please stop at the office and get a late pass before coming to the classroom.
