| Irashaimasu! (Welcome!)
| | Please click here to email me if you have any questions about Japan, the JFMF expererience or if you would just like to say "konnichiwa" (hello)! | In the spring of 2007 I was lucky enough to be selected, as a guest of the Japanese government, to represent Arizona among 200 other particpants within the United States on a three week tour of Japan.
This website was created with two purposes in mind. The first is to educate people about the amazing culture and people of Japan. Unfortunately, many westerners have not had the pleasure of experiencing Japan first hand and it is this teacher's dream to help people around the world grow to love and appreciate Japan.
The second purpose of this website is to help teach other teachers about the JFMF program. It has been described to me as a once in a lifetime experience and I couldn't agree more. |

The Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Program
|
The Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program [JFMF] is sponsored the Government of Japan to promote understanding between the United States and Japan. The JFMF program is administered by the Japan-United States Educational Commission [JUSEC] in Tokyo. The Institute for International Education [IIE] assists JUSEC by coordinating publicity, recruitment, and preliminary applicant screening in the U.S. It is designed to provide American teachers and administrators with opportunities for short term study programs in Japan in order to promote its goals. This program has given me the most rewarding educational experience of my life and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to pass on what I learned while in Japan. I would strongly suggest that any teacher interested in Japan or in learning about other cultures apply to this program. I am willing to help answer any and all questions about the pogram. Please feel free to contact me.
The JFMF application application for the 2008 competition has passed, however, the application will be offered online for the 2009 competition via their website at www.iie.org/jfmf - the deadline is December 10, 2008. For more information about the program please visit the official JFMF website at http://www.fulbrightmemorialfund.jp
