So, what does this all mean?

Core Academic Subjects are those areas traditionally taught in school: English, reading, math, science, foreign languages, government, economics, art, history and geography.
21st Century Themes are significant areas identified by education and business leaders as critical to success:
- Global Awareness
- Financial, Economic and Business Literacy
- Civic Literacy
- Health Literacy
Learning and Innovation Skills are
- Creativity and Innovation Skills
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills
- Communication and Collaboration Skills
Information, Media and Technology Skills are
- Information Literacy
- Media Literacy
- ITC (Information and Communication Technology) Skills
Life and Career Skills are
- Flexibility and Adaptability
- Initiative and Self-Direction
- Social and Cross-Cultural Skills

We will learn and use 21st Century Skills and Core Academic Areas to focus on the 21st Century Themes.
