21st Century Skills Class
In this class we will explore what are called the "21st Century Skills." Understanding and becoming proficient in these skills will help you now and in the future!

So, what does this all mean?
Core Academic Subjects are those areas traditionally taught in school: English, reading, math, science, foreign languages, government, economics, art, history and geography.

21st Century Themes are significant areas identified by education and business leaders as critical to success:

  • Global Awareness

  • Financial, Economic and Business Literacy

  • Civic Literacy

  • Health Literacy


Learning and Innovation Skills are

  • Creativity and Innovation Skills

  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills

  • Communication and Collaboration Skills


Information, Media and Technology Skills are

  • Information Literacy

  • Media Literacy

  • ITC (Information and Communication Technology) Skills


Life and Career Skills are

  • Flexibility and Adaptability

  • Initiative and Self-Direction

We will learn and use 21st Century Skills and Core Academic Areas to focus on the 21st Century Themes.
