Bobcat Town
Bobcat Town
School Bobcat Mascot
Bobcat Town is what we call our fifth grade micro-society. While Mrs. Eman's job is to teach and provide a safe, enriching environment in which students may learn, it is a student's job to function as a responsible citizen of the classroom and fifth grade community.

Daily Salary
You will have four round stickers on the name tag affixed to your desk. Each sticker is worth $1.00 of our classroom money, Bobcat Bucks. Therefore, the base salary each day is $4.00. You may earn bonus Bobcat Bucks throughout the day, and you may be fined, as well.

Examples of Ways to Earn Extra Bobcat Bucks
-Receive compliments from other teachers or adults on campus
-Walk in the halls quietly and politely between special classes or lunch
-Help a classmate
-Follow the Bobcat Code
-Share creative ideas, make connetions, and demonstrate super thinking!

Any 5th grade teacher may award Bobcat Bucks to an individual, table group or the entire class at any time for positive behavior. The opportunities are endless!

Examples of Reasons A Student May be Fined
-Talking during inappropriate times in class or disruptive classroom behavior
-Being noisy or disruptive in the hallway
-Not following the Bobcat Code
-Failing to turn in homework

Keeping Track of Bobcat Bucks
At the end of each day, our classroom bankers for the week will distribute the amount of Bobcat Bucks that coincides with the number of stickers remaining on your name tag. You will keep these and any other Bobcat Bucks earned throughout the day, in a Ziploc bag in your desk until the first Friday of the month.

Monthly Expenses
On the first Friday of every month, you will pay a mortgage of $26.00 for your desk, and $10.75 toward the utilities of the classroom. At the end of each quarter we will then have Market Day. You may spend some of your classroom money at student booths each quarter. You may also choose to save towards the Andricopoulos Auction at the end of the year. After paying your expenses and spending money, you will make a deposit into your classroom savings account and complete a balance sheet.
