The Physical Education curriculum is defined as education in the care and development of the human body stressing athletics and including sportsmanship, leadership and good physical fitness.
Within the curriculum three objectives are to: 1) develop and maintain a suitable maximum level of physical efficiency in each skill area studied, 2) develop useful physical skills and become proficient in body movements that are used in everyday activities, and 3) achieve social maturity, responsibility, leadership and sportsmanship to a desired level in each area studied.

GRADING SYSTEM The grading system in our department is based upon: 1. Daily Points a. Participation-showing effort and sportsmanship in all of the activities. b. Responsibility-being dressed out, following instructions and safety rules 2. Written tests and assignments 3. Skill and fitness test
Dressing Out = 15% Participation = 40% Test/Quizzes/Skills Test = 10% Ram = 35%

MEDICAL EXCUSES All students are required to participate in Physical Education. We do understand that occasionally you or your parents may feel it necessary for you to modify your activity. On these occasions, you are to talk to your Physical Education teacher. You will still be required to dress out. Your teacher may have you modify your activity or give you an alternative assignment. After two days a medical excuse will be required.
To exempt students from Physical Education for an extended period of time, a medical excuse from a doctor is required. All medical excuses must be checked in with the school nurse.
