Extra Credit: Community Art
Have you ever noticed artwork around Tucson that you felt was beautiful and intriguing? Community art can enhance a building or neighborhood by bringing color and life to the surrounding area. It is important to understand and appreciate the value of the art in your life, and in the life of your community!
The next time you are out and about in town, bring your camera and take a picture of the painting, mural, or sculpture you see!
Requirements:
Write a short paragraph (5-7 sentences) describing the piece of art as you see it. Do you know who the artist is? Where did you find it? What catches your eye? What medium is it (paint, marble, stone, metal, etc)? What do you think it means?
Your image can be any size, Ms. Mulleneaux will enlarge it if necessary. Your paragraph should be typed, in Times New Roman, font size 12. If you do not have a camera, you may use the internet to search for images. You may email Ms. Mulleneaux if you do not have a printer.
There is no due date for this extra credit-it will continue all semester long! The extra credit will be worth 5% of your grade (that can mean an 85% can jump to a 90% !).
