Welcome to Mr. Ritchie's Classroom
This is going to be an exciting year, as students finish middle school and look forward to high school. I am anxious to help them make that transition. I look forward to working with each student.

About the Teacher
This is my seventh full year at La Cima Middle School. I did my student teaching here the year before I was hired. I was graduated with a Master's in Education from the University of Phoenix in early 2003. In the last 15 years, I have been in classrooms frequently as a Parent Association president, classroom "room parent," and advisors to school newspapers at the elementary, middle school, and college levels. Before that, I worked in newspapers for 16 years. My newspaper experience included 10 years in various reporting and editing positions on daily newspapers and concluded with six years as the co-owner/publisher/editor of a weekly newspaper in Colorado Springs, CO. My classroom number is 696-6772.

To be successful in this class:
1. Come to class on time and immediately begin working on your bellwork
2. Copy each day's objective in your planner
3. Actively participate in the day's discussion, reading, or writing
4. Be aware of what's happening in the world. Read a newspaper or tune into TV or radio news for a few minutes.
