| Discipline in Room 16
| | The number one priority during the school day is instruction. I want your child and all of the students in the class to learn as much as possible this school year. I find that by having a discipline plan that is both warm and demanding, my students and I are able to put the majority of our energy into academics. I feel that I am clear, consistent, and firm in my dealings with the students, and I am also loving and fun. I respect the students, and in turn, they respect me. Our class is a community of learners! I want your child to be a part of a positive classroom climate where he/she feels welcome and comfortable and will work and learn productively. |

All students at Coronado K-8 School strive to have Paw Pride. Be respectful! Be responsible! Be kind! Be cooperative! Be proud! Students earn Paw Pride Papers for displaying these traits. FRIDAYS ARE PAW PRIDE DAYS. STUDENTS - WEAR YOUR PAW PRIDE TEE-SHIRT AND SHOW YOUR CORONADO COUGAR PRIDE!
Class Rules
1. Respect people and property. 2. Follow directions the first time they are given. 3. One person talks at a time. 4. Avoid calling out and talking loudly. 5. Only go where you are supposed to go.
Each morning and afternoon is a new opportunity to do what is expected and do his/her best.
If a student breaks a rule, I will say, “That’s 1.” This is a warning. The student chose to break a rule. This is a reminder to make good choices.
If that same student breaks another rule, I will say, "That's 2." The student has chosen to break a rule again.
If the student breaks a rule for a third time, I will say, "That's 3, take 5." The student will take a time out for five minutes. The student has chosen to break rules three times.
I will call you if your child makes it to a count of three more than once in the morning, more than once in the afternoon, or during both periods. I will also call you if your child refuses to take a time out or remain in the time out area. I will do that so that you will immediately know what happened during the school day.
On Fridays I will send home a behavior report (good and not so good) that is to be signed and returned on Mondays. Students who return the signed report will receive a Paw Pride Paper.
Once or twice a month on a Friday, I will eat lunch with a group of students. I call this Lunch Bunch. Students who have earned threes (That’s 3, take 5) during the past week or weeks will not be able to join us.
