Homework in Room 16

Each day, Monday through Thursday, your child will bring home his/her Take Home Folder with his/her homework for the day/week inside. On most days, that will consist of math, reading, and spelling homework. Each day's homework should take about 40 minutes to complete.

I will be providing the students with Take Home Folders (for homework and other important papers). Students should not provide their own homework folders because all third grade students will have the same type of folder.

Beginning in September your child will be responsible for completing a monthly book report. He/she will receive instructions and special materials early in the month, with the book report being due at the end of the month.

The lavender Weekly Reading Log and the two-sided spelling papers are due each Friday. Math homework always needs to be returned the following day.

Your child will need the following supplies in order to complete daily homework & monthly book reports: coloring tools, pencils, erasers, a pair of scisscors, and glue.

Every child needs a backpack with his/her name and classroom number on it; this way you are more likely to receive homework, messages, and papers from school, and I will get messages and homework returned. Papers held in a child's hand rarely make it home on the bus or out of the classroom.

Homework assists in the development of self-discipline, self-direction, responsibility, and study skills, and it provides reinforcement of work completed at school.
