Weekly Homework
Weekly homework folders are sent home on Friday and are due the following Wednesday. Math homelinks are always due the next day. Remember to read fifteen minutes every night, practice math facts, and study the weekly spelling words. Focus on the priority spelling words. Practice the bonus words only if the priority words have been mastered.

Homework Tips:

I send many grade level books home throughout the school year. You may wish to keep some in a plastic bag for reading while in the car. This is a great way to provide time for reading.

Using a tape recorder to record your child as he/she reads will add some additional motivation for your child to read aloud. Rereading allows your child to become more fluent and read with more expression.

Attach the spelling words to the refrigerator. While making meals, practice spelling words.

Playing games that use dice is a fun way to learn math facts.

Allow your child to recognize the time on the hour and the half hour.

Practice counting coins.
