Language Arts:
This is an exciting time! I was recently awarded a classroom set of "clickers" (student response systems that look like remote-control devices). After writing a proposal to our district technology leader, Peggy Steffens, I was given this unique, auspicious opportunity! Students will be using the classroom clickers to engage in discussion, polling, critical thinking, and sharing ideas.
Parents, please make sure your child is completing all class work, by checking the homework calendar each week. Everything we do is significant to your child's education. Please remind your child to be prepared. I appreciate all of your support!
2009-10 is the year of my National Board Candidacy. My goal is to become a Nationally Board Certified Teacher; it is a rigorous process that takes most of an entire school-year to complete, and I am almost finished with the process! Parents, thank you for your support so far this year. There has been a huge impact on student learning, and I have seen so much evidence of growth. This year will continue to be full of meaningful, authentic learning. We will practice 21st Century skills, and spend lots of time reading, writing, listening and speaking.
