2nd QUARTER AccMath I & II Grades
as of 13 Nov 09 are now Posted!

TUTORING TUESDAY!

I offer tutoring before school from 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM in my classroom (Room 213) every Tuesday morning. Just show up out in front of the MS by 7:40 AM--no need for a pass--I will come and let you in. If you miss me, just ask the teacher on bus duty to let you in to go to my tutoring.
Students may also get help during lunch -- you will need to get a pass from me to come in and to ensure that I will be there.

Second quarter AccMath grades are computed as follows:

  • 45% = Total Objectives Mastered for the year;

  • 15% = Objectives Mastered in 2nd Quarter

  • 20% = Test average 2nd Quarter

  • 20% = Practices, Tutor Exercises & Review Questions 2nd Quarter

If students need more time outside of class

to complete tests they should see me to get a pass

to come in during our lunch period, before school,

or after school (Mondays & Wednesdays).

Mastering 4 objectives each week will give you a passing grade.

  • The only way to "Master" objectives is through a Test.

  • Thus, students MUST COMPLETE AT LEAST ONE (5 objective) TEST

...EACH WEEK to keep up and TWO OR MORE TESTS to catch up!

  • The first 15 minutes of each class is time for students to work

...on Tests and/or get help from the Tutors.

  • After the lesson and Z-exercise there is usually more time to

work on Tests or get help.

  • AccMath I has 87 Objectives to Master.

  • AccMath II has 134 Objectives to Master (not including Pre-Algebra

....Objectives which will be added near the end of the school year).

    BUBBLE CAREFULLY!!

Filling in the bubbles correctly on the scantron form is part of completing each assignment. Errors in bubbling and errors resulting from erasures misread by the computer will not be rescored in class. Rescoring requires each answer to be entered individually which takes too much time to do in class. To rescore an assignment you must make arrangements with Mr. Vaccaro to come in before school or after school and you must show proof (work) that there was a bubbling error or computer misread.
