A Note from Mrs. Leggett

I joined the La Cima staff in 2003, after retiring from Tucson Unified School District. I have over 30 years teaching experience, and hold three teaching credentials- Special Education, Standard Elementary, and Standard Secondary. I also have two endorsements -Reading and SEI (Sheltered English Instruction). My position here at La Cima is as a Cross-Catagorical Special Education Teacher.
I returned to teaching because I missed working with students. However, I chose to only return part time, so I can still enjoy a little retirement time. I teach first period Reading, second period Inclusion 8th Grade Social Studies (with Mr. Stewart), and third period Inclusion 6th Grade Science (with Ms. Hedberg). Because I work in three seperate classrooms, the best way to reach me is through the distict email- I check my email several times a day. My email address is: gleggett@amphi.com
La Cima has a strong sense of "family" and is a nurturing environment for our students. One of the options available to our students is the after school Achieve program. Two hours of tutoring and clubs are offered M-T-W and provide a wide variety of activities and challenges. I usually return in the late afternoon and offer tutoring in 7-8th grade Social Studies and Science. I also run the Oregon Trail and Scrapbooking clubs.
