Life Science
This year Ms. Leggett's resouce classes will be studying Life Science. The first quarter students study the history of life on earth, classification systems, and structural adaptations. Second quarter the students explore the world biomes and the animals within them. Factors that are affecting changes within the biomes and endanger species will be investigated. Each student is expected to adopt an endangered animal and do a research project that spans the entire quarter. Third quarter the class focuses on one biome in particular: the world ocean. Life in the corral reefs, the deep sea trenches, and rocky beaches will be among the zones the class will study. Our final quarter is marine biology- students apply all their knowledge on classification systems and habitats and concentrate on major animal catagories within the ocean. Students will have the opportunity to dissect a squid, write in its ink, and cook it as calamari.
