Classroom: Chapter 17-4 using CRISS strategy for Summarizing Non-fiction text: Teacher guided reading of a section, students will re-read with their partners and then, using a photocopy of the book, highlight or underline what they think is important. Students will voice an important area and the teacher will highlight it on an overhead. Students will copy their highlighted materials onto paper. Reasons explained before, during and after each step as to importance and use.
